Wendigo, the fetching robust grey mare, stood a little bit away from the absurdly large herd. Many of the others not even looking at her and she even pinned her ears, snorting at one mare that decided to give her a glare which only sent the timid thing skittering back into the middle of the herd. They were pathetic. Her gaze however started to drift towards the grass and trees, taking into account their coloring and concern started to make the grey mare fidget. They didn't have much time left. She glanced over at a pair of colts that were prancing and playing together just like any other young colts and it was far from calming. Her gaze then drifted to find the golden idiots. As expected Squeaker, or Pyrite, was being attended by some of his mares while the other one, her precious Re'venox, was shooting looks at them. She sighed heavily, wincing as she exhaled too much and her unborn protested with a kick. Something had to be done and she knew the horse she needed to find. She sprang

Some days, he was more vibrant and energetic like his old self. On those days he would take a short run or gambol around with the foals for a little before laying down in the grass with Eydis or Skall keeping a watch for him. (Sirin seldom took guard duty. instead content with eying up passing stallions nursing her pregnant belly and the wound she had gained before joining the herd). But those were exceptional days when it was easier to hide the aches, pains and bone deep tiredness that had seized him. So much of the energy Pyrite had, his strength, his vitality it all seemed to have vanished. He just seemed drained and frail ever since the encounter with The Bachelor or as the more irreverent horses in his herd referred to him ‘The Bloody Nuisance.’ Pyrite’s own state was not especially helped given the news he had gotten from Liberty and whose foal she really had carried to term in the snows of winter. The foal in question seemed as normal as any as he watched him trot away his

A black wind howled around The Bloody Bachelor and the stallion beneath him as The Bachelor screamed his rage to the starless sky. He could feel the barrier growing stronger as the sun continued to rise in the realm of mortals. His hold on the mares grew weaker with every second that clipped by. His gaze was“Get up” he demanded a compulsion in his words as contempt dripped like ropes of drool from a rabid dog. “Get. Up.” he repeated. forcing his will over the nuisance that had plagued him like a fly all season. Pyrite’s blue eyes were forced open as he was lifted off the ground and into the air. His limbs didn’t want to obey his desire to run. But then again he also wasn’t sure if they could even support him if they could. His legs felt weak and shaky. Feeble twigs attached to his body as they dangled there. “What exactly did you think you would achieve with this, colt?” The Bachelor asked with a low hiss Pyrite struggled to hear. “I was getting them away from you” The Bachelor

At Wisp’s scream Silaz raised his head just as something large and heavy fell upon him with a heavy whump and a tangle of limbs. Silaz yowled and began to twist and writhe in the massive spider’s pincers even as they fell. The big cat was a dark blur of frenzied rageful teeth and claws as he fought to free himself from the horror that free fell with him and attempted to trap and pin him with its long hairy legs “SI!” Pyrite exclaimed as he lept towards the creature that was sinking its fangs into the dark fur to try and help his friend. Blood flowed freely from the gash in the big cat’s neck worsening by the second with his struggles. Each twist and flail Silaz made those vile fangs ripping more into his flesh. Pyrite twisted himself at the last second spinning on his forehooves as he planted them in the death earth and lashed the massive spider with his hind quarters with as much force as he could. If the beast had a voice it would have screamed as the mustang’s hooves struck its
Hyjal, Azshara, Tyche and Toothless took off at a gallop with Toothless trying his best to shepherd the younger foals guiding them nuzzling them and comforting them as best as the dark colt could, on and on through the trees and bounding and kicking across a gentle stream. Toothless was far from a grown stallion but he was already showing in his proud strides, gleaming coat and keen eye the sort he could become.Powerful and watchful a true guardian and with the right horses at his side the valley could quake under the thunder of his hooves as he roamed its ranges. When they finally emerged from the cover of the trees and into the dazzling sunlight The sight that greeted the foals was hardly a pleasant or warming one. Albion stood alone a solitary dark sentinel looking grave and a look the foals had never never seen on their father. Albion had been a pillar of strength of stability, quiet confidence as he guided them, protected them and watched over them. His head should never have
With the zombie mare gone Pyrite looked to his rescue party, resolve set in his eyes “we know what we have to do.” the stallion’s gaze pointedly avoided Mythari’s worried stare. If he thought too much fear would take him. That scratching and clawing at his senses was the very last thing he needed. “Skall, you two take Mythari and slip in quietly among the herd and try and get them back to the portal, Ardis you’re the strongest. I need you to watch for danger. Strike down what gets between you and escape. Silaz and I will be going for Wisp.” The panther’s whiskers twitched as he let out a low growl “And that blood hooved bastard had better hope he finds us first!” claws slipped from sheathes to piece the dead earth beneath his paws. Pyrite involuntarily shuddered “Right let's get to it” They split up trying to move silent as the shadows that pooled and shifted around them. A task that was second nature to Silaz as they circled around. The big cat slunk low. His eyes gleaming and
The foals' search for the mysterious ghost horse alas never turned up anything more than their own hoofprints looping back on the path they had taken and the faintest scent of a stallion who had passed through what seemed like days ago. His scent was old with barely a trace left carried away by the wind. Hyjal and Azshara hung their heads in disappointment. That was so much less cool than actually meeting a ghost. It took the twins a good few moments to realize that in their haste to chase a ghost they’d completely forgotten about their guardian. Eclipse was gone, no where to be seen. “Eclipse?” Hyjal called out “HEY ECLISPE?! WHERE ARE YOU ECLIPSE?! YELL IF YOU CAN HEAR US?! HELLOOOOOOO!” “Oh boy you are in soooo much trouble bro. You lost our babysitter” Azshara chastised Hyjal looked at her incredulously “I did not! Or uh It wasn’t just me sis! You wanted to chase spooks too! Your hoofprints are over this too!” “Mmm your word against mine though is it not bro bro?” she

It’s cold outside, tonight. Granted, it’s always cold at night in Sedo, but tonight feels especially bitter. The wind seems harsh, unkind and biting into her flesh. The stars glitter coldly, far away, and she can’t hear their song tonight. Normally her windows are open, letting in every stray breeze, the strands of distant music or voices of her neighbors. Tonight she has closed them all, curtains drawn, sitting alone in the dark with a single lantern for company and a blanket for warmth. The stars feel very far away like this, but she’s done this on purpose. She’s indoors, shivering in the dark, because she can’t bear to feel their gaze on her. Can’t stand to hear their gentle song. For once, the stars offer no comfort. If anything, she feels the need to hide from them, pulling herself away and resting in her home in Alhaj. Her simple, plain apartment, with almost nothing of hers and Bellona’s touch lingering in every corner. Her garden- their garden- up on the roof. She wonders
A fellow I know has started a youtube channel which he plans to make all about the joys that hot sauce can lend to a meal. Reviewing the different sauces and brands out there giving his thoughts and notes on their individual flavor profiles, how they interact with different proteins and their overall experience. Come on a trip through spice with the Spice Cadet. I think for those hot food enthusiasts out there and even those with a passing interest it will be a fun journey.
